Customers rave about the cozy and friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for solo dining and group gatherings. The menu consistently receives praise for its delicious home-cooked meals, particularly the grilled steaks, which are perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Many guests highlight the excellent service, where staff members go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Unique dishes like the sticky ginger pudding capture attention, known for generous portions that leave diners satisfied. The great selection of beers and wines enhances the meals, making it a go-to destination for anyone looking to unwind and indulge.

Most Disliked

Although the overall experience is fantastic, some patrons note that it can get quite crowded during peak hours, especially on Friday evenings. This high demand can lead to longer wait times for tables and service. A few visitors have mentioned that the children's menu, while good, could offer more variety. Occasionally, the pub runs out of popular dishes during busy periods, leaving some diners disappointed. The layout, while charming, may feel a bit cramped during peak times, which hinders the cozy ambiance that many come to enjoy. However, these minor issues do not overshadow the overall positive dining experience at Pack Horse Inn.

Absolutely love this pub. Super friendly, food is delicious and drinks great too. Such a classic British pub in all the right ways with some Mediterranean inspired specials. Sticky ginger pudding is unreal and the biggest portion. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

A lovely local spot, food is great value for money but with great quality, meat and fish locally sourced and my type of portions! Pete, Sophie and the team are all lovely which is the cherry on the cake for me. Highly recommend, a home from home! Thank you guys! See you soon!🙏🏾❤️

Was lucky to get a table for three people walk in on a Saturday evening as clearly popular with the locals! Lovely cosy pub with a kind welcome and scrumptious hearty food with beautiful presentation served. Was one of the recommended places in Mark by air bnb host and it did not disappoint! We had the scallops, cheesy garlic bread to start then for mains lemon sole princess, lamp chops and moussaka. (All mains were served with a good helping of wedges or scalloped potatoes~ not pictured). We left with big smiles and full bellies!

Last min Sunday lunch booking whilst in the area. What a gorgeous place, lovely family run business ❤️. 5 of us ate starters, mains and desert. Every single dish was hot, tasty and well presented. Lots of meat, lots of gravy, lovely well cooked veg! The bread rolls with the soup were extra special too! We will be back.

Great country pub. We called in for lunch as we were in the area. We were greeted by a really friendly member of staff. The pub is very clean with a traditional decor. The most striking thing about our visit was the food. My wife and I both ordered the Steak and Ale Pie, which was simply amazing!!!! The chef came out to ask how the food was. When I told him the pie was probably the best I’d ever had, he smirked and gave a knowing look and said “it’s cooked with love”! The pie lid was crisp and light. The steak was so tender with a great after taste of ale. Amazing.
